While they cannot
replicate the magnificence of their gardens and the scenery around the
world, they can bring us a taste of Italy. Chef Luciano Parolari of
Villa d’Este will be visiting the Union League Club of Philadelphia
this coming February 2, 3 and 5, 2007.
The hotel Villa La Massa stands on the banks fo the river Arno, in the
Florentine countryside, next to the Chianti Classico, Gallo Nero and
Rufina regions, only 5 miles from the historic center of Florence.
Set north of Milan on one of the most romantic lakes in the world and
surrounded by the 25 acres of its magnificent garden, Villa d’Este was
originally built in 1568 as the summer residence for the Cardinal
Tolomeo Gallio. The favorite playground of an Empress, an English
Queen and aristocrats, it was transformed into a luxury hotel in
1873.
